The Vincentian Help Desk is a lifeline for those who are low-income or homeless, helping people meet their most basic needs for clean clothes, shoes without holes, a warm coat and a bag of groceries – with dignity and respect. Last year the Help Desk served 14,016 people, of which 4,205 were elderly. This included giving away 1,416 emergency food boxes to the hungry, helping 1,284 individuals and families set up their new households, providing more than 500 people with interview clothing and giving back-to-school items to several children and teens. It is staffed almost entirely by volunteers and stocked with donations from individuals, local parishes, community groups and local businesses.
The Vincentian Help Desk is located at: 1175 Howard Street, San Francisco. For more information, contact Vickey Proctor by email.
