JOB TITLE: Community Case Manager
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full-time, Union
LOCATION: 1175 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA
SUPERVISOR: Community Office Program Manager
SALARY/BENEFITS: $19.09 medical fully paid for employee, voluntary dental and vision

SUMMARY:
The Community Case Manager provides counseling, advocacy, and case management services to survivors of domestic violence at The Riley Center’s Community Office. This includes support groups, drop in support as well as follow-up services to former residents of the Riley Center residential programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate and provide domestic violence services to Community Office clients: telephone, home visits, counseling, case management, advocacy, accompaniment, referrals, and assist clients with paperwork.
• Refer clients to appropriate domestic violence services in the community.
• Assume responsibility of Community Office statistical and data collection for quarterly reports.
• Attend Riley Center staff meetings, supervision meetings and trainings.
• Participate in appropriate on-going staff development & training.
• Facilitate support groups.
• Participate in on-going cross training to perform duties in other departments of the agency as needed.
• Maintain and compile client records, including individual case notes, daily log and statistics, in an accurate and timely manner.
• Share office management duties: maintenance, donations, mail, supporting volunteers, etc.
• Occasional weekend and evening hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA degree in Psychology, Social Work, Gender Studies, or other related field. Experience and/or certifications may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
• 40 hour DV Certification required. The certification may be done upon hire.
• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence direct services, and government agencies is preferred.
• Average ability to write, read and speak English.
• Demonstrated skills in counseling, case management and client advocacy.
• Familiarity with Harm Reduction philosophy and approach.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to document clearly and legibly.
• Understanding of domestic violence issues, especially in context to race, class, gender, and sexual identity.
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision, as well as being a team player.
• Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with a diverse community, including LGBTQQ, youth, immigrant, low income communities, and communities of color.
• Working knowledge of community resources.
• Demonstrated commitment to open, direct, and non-violent communication.
• Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent reporting skills including use of Microsoft Office and data entry skills.
• Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a small office.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, volunteers and staff.
