Domestic Violence Trainings

The Riley Center wants you to become an advocate for our community!

We have wonderful, dedicated community members involved in our organization, providing administrative, event, and skill-based volunteering who work to assist survivors of domestic violence. In addition to these opportunities, we conduct trainings three times per year, which allow volunteers to work directly with our clients.

Beginning on January 7, 2019 The Riley Center’s Winter Domestic Violence Advocate Training sessions will take place at our Community Office.

January 7 – 11, 2019
Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Topics included in our 40 hour training:

  • Domestic Violence 101
  • Supporting Survivors
  • Teen Dating Violence
  • Safety Planning
  • The Effects of Trauma
  • Understanding Barriers Due to Identity & more!

This application provides us with important information about your interests, skills, and readiness for anti-violence training and volunteer work. Please fill it out thoughtfully and completely. Any incomplete applications will be discarded after one week. The Riley Center reserves the right to decline any applicant based on appropriateness of match to the needs of the agency.

We will be having two Domestic Violence Training’s this Fall. Applications are due by December 30, 2018 – or until spaces are filled. Spaces are very limited and priority is given to incoming volunteers for the Riley Center, Staff from DV Agencies and Service Providers around the San Francisco Bay Area. Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural Spanish speakers are strong encouraged to apply!
