St. Vincent de Paul Society of San Francisco’s invaluable programs serve over 1,000 people each day. It is through the dedication of generous and community-minded volunteers that we can continue our mission to help those suffering from homelessness and domestic violence.

Multi-Service Center South Homeless Shelter

In addition to covering basic needs, such as food and a place to sleep, the MSC-South homeless shelter also offers medical, employment, education, mental health, and housing assistance.

Division Circle Navigation Center In Memory of Brian Quinn

SVDP-SF staff and partner agencies offer a wide spectrum of services at Division Circle Navigation Center , that include case management, medical care, mental health and substance abuse screening, access to appropriate treatment, public benefits and employment resources, and most importantly, assistance to finding appropriate and available housing.

The Riley Center for Survivors of Domestic Violence
1175 Howard Street
San Francisco, CA 94103

 

The Riley Center consists of several offices and living facilities aimed at providing a safe, secure place for victims of domestic abuse and their children. Programs include counseling, legal aid, safety planning and assistance in securing permanent housing.
Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Answering Support Line calls
  • Children’s Program at our shelters 
  • Co-facilitating Support Groups (English and Spanish groups)
  • Peer Counseling
  • Administrative, outreach, and community education support
  • Translation for written and verbal communication
Note that in order to volunteer at the Riley Center, you must participate in a mandatory 40-hour domestic violence training program. Upon successful completion of the program, volunteers commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week and/or a consistent schedule for a period of 1 year.
