SVDP-SF’s Riley Center Community Office is the organization’s public program intended to serve survivors of domestic violence. The Riley Center Community Office hosts workshops, classes, and other community services that advance the mission of SVDP-SF.

The Riley Center is pleased to announce our Spring Workshops sessions: created to inspire, transform, and heal survivors of domestic violence. Worried about the little one? Don’t sweat it! We got you covered with our Children’s Playroom being cared for by our Lead Children’s Case Manager. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

SVDP-SF Panel Discussion Series
In order to increase the overall community engagement of SVDP-SF, it is proposed that quarterly panel discussions take place at the Community Office starting in Q1 of 2019. The panel discussions should touch on topics pertaining to SVDP’s program areas (Homeless Services and Domestic Violence). Panel Discussion should take place on weekdays or early evening and are anticipated to last no more than 90 minutes including a Q&A session and networking opportunity.
- Wednesday Feb 27th, 2019: DV Focus: Minority families and Domestic Violence
- Time: 5:30 pm
A discussion with 2-3 experts in the field to discuss how DV impacts minorities and communities of color; considering cultural implications when it comes to reporting cases of DV. A particular focus on the stigma that can come with DV particularly in the immigrant community. Panelists to speak on measures they have implemented, and findings they have gathered through programmatic practice in the field.

Conversations is a monthly gathering to discuss the impact of domestic abuse and its remedy among the villagers (domestic violence advocates, social workers, teachers, doctors, attorneys, clergy, family members and friends) that love and support domestic abuse survivors. The Conversations Series takes place on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 4pm – 6pm. Please join us for this dynamic series.
