Spring 2020 Domestic Violence Training May 6 – June 24, 2020
Our Domestic Violence Advocacy Trainings have shifted online.
Learn the dynamics of domestic violence to build a foundation of knowledge that allows you to support survivors as a service provider or community member.
St. Vincent de Paul’s – Riley Center for Domestic Abuse Survivors Program is looking for volunteers that are interested in working: in our community office, on our crisis line, at our children’s program, and with Volunteer Outreach Coordinator at community outreach events and resource fairs.
Audience:
This 40-Hour Training is designed for the general public, potential volunteers, and working adults in the education, health, housing, legal, and social services fields. This training is for people who are committed to the following:
- Supporting survivors of domestic abuse/intimate partner violence,
- Developing and enhancing counseling, facilitation, and leadership skills
- Challenging all forms of oppression that contribute to Intimate Partner Violence
40-Hour Training Format:
The required curriculum will be presented EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE! This requires online training with staff from organizations that are well-established in the field of Domestic Violence and related areas. Videos and readings will complement our presentations and discussions. In order to participate in this training you are required to:
- Have access to a computer with a webcam and microphone.
- Have access to the internet.
- Have Zoom.us downloaded on the computer.
- Be registered to participate in this training by May 1, 2020 at 5pm.

Training Dates:
This training will take place on the following dates, which are on Wednesday evenings from 4:00pm – 7:00pm
- Session 1: May 6, 2020
- Session 2: May 13, 2020
- Session 3: May 20, 2020
- Session 4: May 27, 2020
- Session 5: June 3, 2020
- Session 6: June 10, 2020
- Session 7: June 17, 2020
- Session 8: June 24, 2020

St. Vincent de Paul’s Riley Center Community Office, 1175 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Applications and payments are due by May 1, 2020. Spaces are very limited and priority is given to incoming volunteers for the Riley Center, Staff from Domestic Violence Agencies and Service Providers around the San Francisco Bay Area. Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural Spanish speakers are strong encouraged to apply!
