JOB TITLE: Case Manager
SCHEDULE: Friday – Monday 1 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, non-exempt, union membership OPEIU local 29
LOCATION: Confidential shelter site
SUPERVISOR: Residential Program Manager
SALARY/BENEFITS: $19.09 per hour, benefits/medical (Kaiser) and other voluntary benefits

SUMMARY:
This position provides a full range of direct services to survivors of domestic violence primarily in our transitional housing program and support with transitional housing program survivors of domestic violence as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, peer support, and manage emergency procedures.
• Provide direct client services: individual counseling, case management, advocacy, accompaniment, and emergency transportation (using program vehicle).
• Conduct new client screenings: review application, interview and provide orientation to new clients/families.
• Facilitate resident meetings and support groups.
• Maintain and compile client records, including crisis line forms, individual case files, daily log and service statistics in an accurate and timely manner.
• Participate in regular staff meetings: Community Time, In-Services, Case Management, program development.
• Represent Riley Center in community activities as needed.
• Assist Volunteer Coordinator in training and supervising volunteers as needed.
• Share residential shelter management duties: laundry, clean/set up rooms, donations, food shopping, basic maintenance, chore checks, etc.
• Participate in on-going cross training and appropriate staff development to perform duties in other departments of the agency as needed.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
• Upon hiring, complete the next domestic violence training offered by Riley Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA degree in social services, psychology or other related field preferred. Equivalent work experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence in direct services.
• Demonstrated skills in counseling, case management and client advocacy.
• Familiarity with the philosophy and approach of Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing and OARS.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of domestic violence issues, especially in context to race, class, gender, and sexual identity.
• Knowledge, experience, and comfort working with a diverse community, including LGBTQQ, youth, immigrant, low income communities, and communities of color.
• Working knowledge of community resources.
• Demonstrated commitment to open, direct, and non-violent communication.
• Ability to de-escalate crisis situations and make decisions under pressure.
• Basic reporting skills including data entry, Excel and Word processing.
• Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a small office.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, volunteers and staff.
